     Samuel was employed as a carpenter.1 He was a soldier and fought in the American Revolution from 1776 to 1783. He enlisted December 9, 1776 for the town of Cambridge. He served as a private under Captain John Walton in the Cambridge Company, Middlesex County Militia in 1776, and under Captain Joseph Williams, Capt. Abraham Watson, and Capt. Simon Jackson in Col. John Greaton's Regiment of the Continental Army from 1776 to 1783. He was furloughed June 8, 1783 at New Windsor.12,7 In a 1781 military list he was described as age 46, five feet five inches, light complexion, gray hair, blue eyes, a farmer from Cambridge.12 The "History of Cambridge" indicates that he was "thriftless and improvident, and depended on others for support."1

     Sarah Cutler was born on 15 Sep 1735 in Weston, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4,5 She was the daughter of Ebenezer Cutler and Anna Whitney. Sarah Cutler married Samuel Hill on 24 Feb 1764 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.6,7,8 Sarah Cutler died on 30 Dec 1808 at Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, at age 73.7,9,10,11 She was interred at Pleasant View Cemetery, Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.12,13
     Elisha Cutler was baptized in on 15 Jan 1748/49 at Weston, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.14 As of 24 Feb 1764,her married name was Hill. She purchased a lot of land in Cambridge, thirty foot square, for the price of nine pounds, twelve shillings.
About the year 1790, swhe went to Mason, and lived there with her son Ebenezer.15

     Daniel Hill was born on 2 Nov 1763 at Menotomy, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Russell on 25 Apr 1793 at Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Daniel was of Cambridge.2 Daniel Hill died on 10 Nov 1841 in Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, at age 78.3
     He resided with Samuel Hill in Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, in 1800.4

     Research Note: Daniel HILL, Jr, was born 2 November 1763 in Menotomy (Arlington) MA to Daniel HILL and his wife, Lydia LOCKE (sister to Elizabeth LOCKE, wife of Jason Russell, below). He married in Mason to Elizabeth RUSSELL, daughter of Jason RUSSELL (see below) and his wife, Elizabeth LOCKE. Their children, believed to have all been born in Mason, were: 1. Daniel HILL III, 2. (infant who died at age 2), 3. Lewis HILL, 4. Elizabeth HILL, 5. Nathaniel HILL, 6. Benjamin Russell HILL, 7. David HILL, and 8. Lydia HILL. Daniel moved to Mason around 1793 when he first appears in the Mason Tax Rolls. He was a farmer. Daniel served in the Revolutionary War and was in the payroll of Capt. Isaac Gage and stationed for three months in 1781 near West Point in New York. And before that he served in 1780 in Rhode Island. In 1832 he was listed as an invalid and received a pension of $20.44 per year. He died in Mason on 10 Nov 1841. His wife, Elizabeth, born 2 July 1769, died in Mason, on the 12th of July 1827. Ebenezer Hill was born on 31 Jan 1766 at Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,2,3 He has also been reported to have been born on 29 Jan 1766 at Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.4 He was the son of Samuel Hill and Sarah Cutler. He married Mary Boynton on 2 Feb 1791 at Townsend, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3,5 He married Rebecca Bancroft on 18 Nov 1795 at Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.3,5 He married Abigail Jones, daughter of Timothy Jones, on 22 Sep 1799 at Bedford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.5,3,6 Marriage intentions for Rev. Ebenezer Hill and Mary Boynton were published on 24 Oct 1790 at Westford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.7 Rev. Ebenezer Hill died on 20 May 1854 at Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, at age 88.8,2,3 He has also been reported to have died on 27 May 1854 at Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.4 He was interred at Mason, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.9,10

Nathaniel Peabody Jr.

     Nathaniel Peabody Jr. was born on 26 Feb 1792 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1,2,3 He was the son of Nathaniel Peabody and Elizabeth Cole. He married Mary Gilcreast, daughter of John Gilcreast and Abigail Downing, on 21 Oct 1822 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.4 Nathaniel Peabody Jr. died on 24 Mar 1857 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 65.5,6,3 He was buried at Hildreth Cemetery, Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3
     He inherited 1/2 of the eastern part of the Marsh Hill farm.

Nathaniel appears to have been active in town affairs. At a town meeting on 3 March 1834 he was chosen as one of five "Tything Men."7 On 2 April 1849 Nathaniel Peabody, Jr. was chosen by the town Selectmen to be one of 35 men qualified " to serve as jurors for the revision alteration and confirmation of the town8." He lived in Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1850.9
