     Alexander MacDonald was born a 1789 at Ontario, Canada.2 He was the son of Duncan MacDonald and Hannah Grant.3,4 He married Anne Grant, daughter of Lewis Grey Grant and Catherine McDonald, on 30 May 1814 at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, Charlottenburgh Township, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada.5,6 Alexander MacDonald married Catherine McDonald, daughter of Duncan McDonald and Anne Grant, on 10 Nov 1835 at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, Charlottenburgh Township, Glengarry County, Ontario.7 Alexander MacDonald died on 21 Feb 1862 at Charlottenburgh Township, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada. Different Alexander.8,9 His estate was probated on 9 Dec 1872 at Alexandria, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada.3
     He and Catherine McDonald lived in Charlottenburgh Township, Glengarry County, Ontario, in 1839.
