     Arthur Parke Wallace was born on 10 Jan 1788 at Parkesburg, Chester County, Pennsylvania.2,3,4,5,6,7 He was the son of John Wallace and Margaret Parke. He married Julia Ann Wilson on 10 Oct 1822.8,9 Arthur Parke Wallace died on 8 Jan 1874 at age 85.6,8 He was buried at Upper Octorara Cemetery, Parkesburg, Chester County, Pennsylvania.6,10
     He served in military service as a private in the War of 1812, in the Pensylvania Militia uder Capt. C. Wigton.11 In Arthur Parke 2nd's will on 20 Jan 1818 at West Fallowfield, Chester County, Pennsylvania, an unknown person were named as heirs. Arthur Parke Wallace was the grandson of Arthur Parke 2nd;

The will provided:
To son Thomas part of my plantation, as described, paying certain legacies. To daughters Elizabeth Daniel, Margaret Wallace and Mary McClellan $100 each. To grandson Arthur P. Moore $20 at 21. To granddaughter Keziah Parke $20. To granddaughter Ann Harshbarger $30. To the children of my daughter Martha Patton, deceased, viz: Jane, Isabella, Maria and Ann Patton $100, to be divided. To daughter Tabitha Parke remainder of plantation, as described, paying legacies as follows: To three daughters above named $33 1/3 each. To daughters Agnes Patton, Jennet Stewart and Hannah Calhoon $3.33 each. To granddaughters Jennet Eagle and Keziah Parke $30 each. To grandson Arthur P. Hershberger $20 at 21. To grandson Arthur P. Patton, $33 1/3. To Grandson Arthur Daniel $12. To grandson Arthur P. Wallace, $12.
Executors: Son Thomas and nephews Arthur and John Parke, W. Fallowfield.
Witnesses: Samuel Glasgow, Nathaniel Davis, John Ramsey.
The will was proved Aug. 1, 1822.12

Arthur owned real estate worth $7,200 and personal property worth $1,400.15 Arthur Parke Wallace and Julia Ann Wilson lived in Highland Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, Marshalton post office in 1870. The 1870 census listed the value of Arthur Wallace's real property at $9,500 and his personal property at $3,000. Annie worked as a housekeeper. His son, William, and his family are listed as the next entry, living in the same house. William is a farmer and Arthur is retired. Thus it appears that William is running Arthur's farm.16

     She is of French, English and Welsh descent. The Sylvester's (or Sylvestre') are direct descendents of Pierre Sylvestre, who came to America with Lafayette. Irene's brother was a jeweler in West Chester, PA. Her mother was Frances Crozier, whose father, Jonathon, came from France and fought in the Revolutionary War. His five brothers settled in various parts of the country. Jonathon's wife, Margaret Epright, came from Wales.

Sylvester, daughter of Lewis Sylvester and Frances Ann Crozier, a 1883.6,7 George Edwin Barton died on 10 Sep 1931 at Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, at age 70.5,8,1,9 He was buried on 14 Sep 1931 at Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Chester County, Pennsylvania.10,11
     He resided with James Barton and Caroline Hutton in West Marlborough, Chester County, Pennsylvania, in 1870.12 George Edwin Barton lived with James Barton and Caroline Hutton in 1880 at West Marlborough, Chester County, Pennsylvania. He worked in a cotton mill.13 George operated a family business in Landenberg until it was burned out in a fire, and was not rebuilt. George had a lot of the English Squire in his blood. He loved horses and dogs. He was a great hunter and was known to have broken 99 out of 100 clay pigeons on more than one occasion. He farmed, raised horses, operated a riding stable, and was a good veterinarian. George married Irene Sylvester of West Chester, PA, and had six children. George, Joshua, and Margaret got the wanderlust, ran away, and joined the circus. Eventually they had a circus of their own: "Barton Bros. Circus". She married Roland McDonald Hill on 3 Jul 1918 at Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2,3 Louisa Pearce died on 8 Mar 1981 at Tewksbury Hospital, Tewksbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 94.4 She was interred at Oakland Cemetery, on Mamoth Road, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.5
     Louisa, Joseph Howell Pearce's child, resided with Joseph on Pear Tree Row, at Callington, Cornwall, England, in Nov 1886.1 Maud, Alice, Gertrude, Rosina, Louisa and Beatrice, Elizabeth Wooldridge's child, resided with Elizabeth at Launceston Road, Callington, Cornwall, England, in 1891.6 Louisa Pearce emigrated with Joseph Howell Pearce and Elizabeth Wooldridge in Aug 1898 from Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.7,8,9,10,11,12 Louisa left school at the age of 14, and was sent to work in the mills in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Her uncle Tim O'leary paid for both her and her sister Beatty to train for nursing. She then worked as a visiting nurse. She met Roland Hill while she was treating his father Francis Hill for typhoid fever in Warner, New Hampshire.13 Louisa Pearce resided with Joseph Howell Pearce and Elizabeth Wooldridge at 10 Franklin Street, Wakefield, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1900.14 She went to nursing school from about 1907 to about 1910.15 Louisa Pearce resided with William F. Barrett and Alice Pearce at 7 Crescent Court, Wakefield, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1910.16 Louisa was also listed in the 1910 federal census as a nurse residing at the Margaret Pillsbury Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire.17 Louisa Pearce appears in a group photo in 1911.18 She was naturalized in 1918.19 As of 3 Jul 1918,her married name was Hill.      Roland McDonald Hill was born on 26 Jul 1888 at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Francis Isaac Hill and Catherine Elizabeth MacDonald. He was baptized at Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at St. Mary's Church.3 He married Louisa Pearce, daughter of Joseph Howell Pearce and Elizabeth Wooldridge, on 3 Jul 1918 at Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.4,5 Roland McDonald Hill died on 16 Sep 1966 at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 78.6 He was interred on 19 Sep 1966 at Oakland Cemetery, on Mamoth Road, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.7,6
     When his mother died Roland and his three brothers were raised by his grandmother, Eliza Peabody Hill and her unmarried daughter Emma Hill.

He worked as an engineer and operated and maintained cranes and equipment at a granite quarry operated by H. E. Fletcher Company in Westford, Massachusetts.3,6 He resided with Eliza Ann Hill at Mammoth Road, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1900.8 Wnen Roland was about 13 or 14 he was sent to work at his uncle Fred Hill's wood lot. He was not sent to school for fear of catching tuiberculosis. It was genearally believed that being outside in the fresh air would prevent catching the disease.9 He was stationed at Fort Devens, Massachusetts during World War I. (The 1930 census indicates he was in the military during World War I.)10,11 Roland McDonald Hill and Louisa Pearce lived at 586 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1920.12 Roland and Louisa rented in several locations in Dracut. First on Riverside Street, until a bar moved in next door. Then they moved to School Street. He built the house at 2 Hurley Avenue around 1950. All of their daughters went to the Parker Avenue elementary school.13 Roland McDonald Hill lived at the corner of Lakeview and Parker Avenues, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in a two family house early in 1921.14 Before 1925, when Roland went to work at the Fletcher Granite Quarry on Route 40 in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, they moved a house on Riverside Drive. The house was owned by the owner of the quarry (Mr. Cogger?). The rent was $30 a month (Rowena was the one who usually delivered the rent.)3 He and Louisa Pearce lived at 487 Riverside Street, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1930.11 During the depression, they closed off the upstairs of the house to save heat, and moved beds to the first floor. The house on Riverside Street had a front hall, a parlor and a kitchen on the first floor, with a small pantry off the kitchen.15 Roland McDonald Hill and Louisa Pearce lived at 71 School Street, Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, bt 1935 - 1945.16,17 Roland McDonald Hill appears in a group photo a 1940 at Warner, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Roland retired from Fletcher's in the early 1950's after being involved in an accident in which the crane he operated tipped over at the quarry.

He corresponded for a while with a cousin named Cassie (Catherine) McDonald who lived in Canada. She moved to western Canada and died a few years before Roland died.18
