He married Isabel Harper, daughter of Thomas Harper, a 1608 at England.2 John Paybody died a 1667 at Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.2,1 He was buried on 27 Apr 1667 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.2
Came to Plymouth Colony on the ship "Isabel" as early as 1636, and lived in Duxbury. In 1637 he owned 10 acres of land in Bluefish. His name is not on the passenger list with his son. John and William Paybody were listed by John Winslow among the original proprietors of Bridgewater in 1645.3 He left a will on 16 Jul 1649 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
In and upon the Sixteenth of July in the year of our Lord 1649, I John Paybody of Daybroock in the Collonie of New Plymouth Planter being in perfect health and sound in memory God be blessed for it doe ordain and make this my last Will and Testament In manner and forme as followeth:
