Thomas and son Charles served in the Revolutionary War, and were captured by the British during a cavalry skirmish in Bucks County, in January 1778. Thomas was stabbed by an English bayonet, he died of his wounds 2/24/1778 in Germantown Hospital. He was first interred at Market Sq. Church in Germantown.¹⁰
