     Cornelius Van Wormer was born b 22 Feb 1756 at Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York.2,3,4 He was baptized on 22 Feb 1756 at First Reformed Dutch Church of Coxsackie, Coxsackie, Greene County, New York, Sponsors were Stephanus Van Schaack and Elisabeth Roosa.5,2,6,7 He was the son of Laurens Laurensz Van Wormer and Judikje Van Hoesen.7 Cornelius Van Wormer married Catharina Hendrickson, daughter of Hendricus Hendricksen and Annaatje Merkel, on 16 Jul 1785 at Catskill, Greene County, New York.8,9,7,1,10,11 Cornelius Van Wormer died on 17 Mar 1824 at Catskill, Greene County, New York.12,13,14
     Cornelius Van Wormer served as a private in Captain Gabriel Requan's Company of militia, belonging to Colonel Joseph Drake's Regiment, stationed at the North River to guard the shore while the ships of war were in the river July 14 and 15, 1776.

The records also show that one Cornelius Vanworma served as a private in Captain Ambrose Horton's Company, 4th New York Regiment, commanded by Colonel James Holmes, Revolutionary War. His name appears on a muster roll of the company covering the period from June 28 to October 10, 1775, dated at Ticonderoga October 10, 1775, which shows as follows: Enlisted 22 Aug., 1775 on duty.3 He enlisted in 1780 and served in New York regiments for more than two years under Cols. Marinus Willett, Anthony Bergen and Albert Pawling. In 1839 his widow received a pension.

Cornelius Van Wormer is listed in "American Revolutionary War - Continental Forces, Cocksakie, Albany County, New York (Now Coxsackie, Green County, New York), Eleventh Regiment Militia, Land Bounty Rights", Page 233.17 He received a pension for service as a private in the New York troops under Colonel Willett.18 Cornelius Van Wormer was included in a list of taxpayers in Coxsackie, Greene County, New York, fr 1787 - 1800.19 Cornelius Van Wormer was included in a list of taxpayers in Catskill, Greene County, New York, in 1801.20 He and Catharina Hendrickson lived in Durham, Greene County, New York, in 1820.
