Born July 20, 1937, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Frances and Charles J. Kramer.
He graduated from high school in New York and completed four years of military service.
He began working at Bell South in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 1969, and retired in 2002 after a long career as a test technician at Bell South's central office.
His proudest accomplishment was being a loving husband to Janice, his wife of 47 years. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Linda and husband, David Williams, of Deland, Fla; two grandsons, Scott Beaver of Orlando, Fla., and Jonathan Djordjevic of Oviedo, Fla; and nephew, Don Hann of Mississippi.
Chuck was a lifetime member of the Elks Club and the American Legion. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelist Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, Brooklyn, N.Y., and a member of the Lutheran Committee on Scouting.
Chuck's hobbies were woodworking, and collecting steins, stamps and coins.
Chuck will be dearly missed, and his memory will be our treasure forever.

A. Jess Tomlinson, age 88, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Conway Medical Center.
He was born April 12, 1923, the son of Rev. Homer A. Tomlinson and Marie Wunch in Queens Village, NY. Mr. Tomlinson graduated from Jamaica High School and played college basketball at NYU on an athletic scholarship. He served his country in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in combat. He lived in Huntington Station, NY and was employed with the Long Island Railroad from 1942 until his retirement in 1977.
He was married to Katherine Tomlinson from 1942 until her homegoing in 2003. Survivors include a son, Dr. Alfred J. Tomlinson of Surfside Beach, daughters Gloria J. Johnson and Doris M. Marcus, also of Surfside Beach, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He also leaves a brother, Homer E. Tomlinson of Huntington Station, NY and Margaret Tomlinson, whom he married in 2005.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Tomlinson was always deeply involved in his church as Sunday School Superintendent, board member, and musician. He loved playing his trombone in the church orchestra, singing in the choir, and leading praise and worship. He instilled these qualities into all three of his children, who remain active in their respective churches.
He and his wife Katherine visited Surfside Beach yearly as snowbirds in 1986, and he immediately became involved in the Senior Softball league which he enjoyed until 2008. He loved playing first base and lacing singles to right field. They moved to Surfside Beach full-time in 2000 and he has attended South Strand Assembly of God since 2006.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with the Rev. Robert Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6pm-8pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Helping Hand Rescue Mission, 325 Broadway, Huntington Station, NY 11746.2 He was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway, South Carolina.2

A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with the Rev. Robert Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6pm-8pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Helping Hand Rescue Mission, 325 Broadway, Huntington Station, NY 11746.2 He was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway, South Carolina.2
