     HAVERHILL, Mass. - Robert Jason Heald, Sr., 63, of Fremont, N.H., formerly of Chelmsford, died Feb. 19, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.

Born in Chelmsford March 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Frederick and Ruby (Hill) Heald. He attended Chelmsford public schools and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School, Class of 1966.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Heald proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Having served aboard the USS Walworth County, he was honorably discharged after four years of service.

For the past 15 years Mr. Heald was employed as a truck driver for the Wal-Mart Corp. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed time spent with his family and his dog, Burley, and especially loved the long rides on his Harley with his loving wife, Lynn.

He leaves his beloved wife, Lynn A. (Pellegrino) Heald, of Fremont, N.H; a son, Robert J. Jr, of Concord, N.H., a daughter, Jennifer L. Smith and her husband, Mark, of Michigan; stepsons Keith and Matthew Babcock, of Fremont, N.H; a stepdaughter, Christina Babcock, of Boston; a sister, Diane Hansen, of Brunswick, Maine; seven cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremy, Charlie, Jessica, Robbie, Skyla, and Lilliana; an aunt, Barbara Hill, of Marion; nephews John and Eric Hansen; a niece, Kristine Wescott and cousins who will miss him dearly.
